Welcome to Ms. Lam NEST, our newest Parent & Child Community program opening this summer at our new Park Slope campus.

The Ms. Lam NEST program is inspired by the philosophy of La Maison Verte ("The Green House"), founded in Paris in 1979 by French psychoanalyst Françoise Dolto. Continuing both the Green House and Montessori traditions, our program centers around emotional security, respectful relationships, and community support for both parents and young children.

More than simply a parent-and-child class, Ms. Lam NEST is a thoughtfully prepared Montessori environment rooted in observation, connection, and respectful accompaniment during the earliest years of life.

This summer, we will be offering:

NIDO CommunityFor children ages 8–18 months and their caregivers

During this intimate 8-week experience, families will gather in a carefully prepared Montessori environment where children can freely explore age-appropriate materials, move independently, engage with their surroundings, and begin experiencing community beyond the home.

At the same time, parents and caregivers will have opportunities to observe, ask questions, gain a deeper understanding of their child's development, and connect with other families navigating similar stages of life.

Led by a Montessori-trained 0–3 educator, sessions will include:

  • Authentic Montessori experiences designed for infants and young toddlers

  • Opportunities to observe and better understand your child's development

  • Conversations around movement, language, independence, and the early years

  • Guidance and support from a Montessori-trained educator

  • Meaningful connection with other parents and caregivers

  • A calm, welcoming community where both children and adults can grow together

The program is intentionally kept small, with just 10–12 parent-child pairs, creating a peaceful and nurturing environment where authentic relationships can flourish.

Through shared experiences, gentle guidance, and meaningful community, NEST offers families a warm and welcoming space to grow together during the earliest and most formative years of childhood.
