A Letter From Our Educational Director
Meet Our Directors
Stephanie Woo
Educational Director
“ The mind of the child between 0-6 is completely different from ours and therefore, we cannot fully trust our point of view when it comes to children. We must question what we are thinking. We must watch our own reactions and triggers. When you know how their mind differs from ours, I hope it will also stop any frustration you may be experiencing now. Maria Montessori wrote, ‘The fate of mankind lies in the child.’ But it is the education and self-awareness of the adult that will truly impact the child and thus the fate of us all.” - Stephanie Woo
Stephanie grew up watching her mother start and develop the Ms. Lam Montessori School, where she has also worked for several summers. Stephanie has her AMI 0-3 Assistant-to-Infancy diploma from The Montessori Institute in Denver, CO, her AMI 3-6 Primary diploma from The Montessori Institute Northwest in Portland, OR, and her 6-12 Elementary diploma from The Montessori Institute in Spokane, WA.
Stephanie is a mother of three: 11-year-old twins, Brooke and Mackenzie, and 5-year-old Harper, who are all currently attending Ms. Lam Montessori. Stephanie's blog, Montessori On the Double, and her YouTube channel, documents her journey of raising her twins, Brooke and Mackenzie, the Montessori way. Her book, Raising Your Twins - Real Life Tips On Parenting Your Children with Ease (Without Kicking Your Spouse to the Curb!), was published by Aviva Publishing in 2013.
Prior to Montessori and motherhood, Stephanie graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in History and was the owner of a greeting card company for 10 years. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking with her children, writing and meditating.
