Second Year Primary

The child is now in their second year of Primary. This is a year full of learning. They are no longer the youngest child. They now have the opportunity to take care of younger children, a job they take seriously. But they still have older children to look up to and learn from. This is a year that can drive parents a little crazy because at times the child can seem to understand so much and the next moment, they seem to be going backwards. Many parents experience frustration with this back and forth. But this child is caught in-between: they have developed so many skills, but they still need a lot of love and patience. All of this very normal and expected.

If your child is born between August and December, you may be deciding which school year your child belongs in. Ms. Lam Elementary - like most private schools - will accept children who turn 6 by September 1.  Every child is different. There is no hurry. We don’t recommend pushing children forward unnecessarily. We must follow the child and see what each child needs. We highly recommend families to visit many schools, public and private this year.
